Don Buchanan – Senior Developer
Don is the Senior Developer and Technical Lead of our integration specialist team at one of our Midrand-based clients. He is responsible for business analysis, architecting solutions, and software development and support.
After obtaining a diploma in Electrical Engineering – Light Current, Don started his career working on the hardware and firmware designs for embedded systems. He has since obtained experience in the local development of radar systems, acquired a BSc degree majoring in Computer Science and Zoology, started a company specialising in radar system development, completed an MBL through UNISA, and started another company which specialised in the embedded system development of vehicle tracking and the development of the firmware of vehicle tracking units. Don joined Vicitude in 2009 as a software engineer, primarily involved with the development of the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) middleware for one of our Midrand Clients.
@Don: I particularly like the everyday challenge of creating the evolving architecture and services stimulated by an ever increasing message rate being received by the ESB. In addition, the continuous advancement in IT technology makes it one of the most exciting sub-sectors of the industry.
In his spare time Don is a committed family man, an avid mountain biker, wildlife photographer and serious musician.
